Renewable

A “renewable” raw material is a material that regenerates rapidly. Sugar cane, for example, is a renewable raw material as it grows back in a short, tangible and predictable period (seasonal cycles). CO2 which is then converted by photosynthesis into glucose, a sugar.

A plant is therefore a CO2 absorber

Plastics of plant origin are therefore defined as renewable or more technically biobased.
